Rashida Jones is a film and television actress, comic book author, screenwriter, and occasional singer with an estimated net worth of $5 million. Born Rashida Leah Jones on February 25, 1976 in Los Angeles, California, she is the daughter of music producer Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton.

Jones attended The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California where she made the National Honor Society and was voted “Most Likely to Succeed” by her classmates, including Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. She moved to Brentwood with her mother after her parents divorced when she was fourteen.

Rashida Leah Jones gained attention after she responded in an open letter to scathing remarks made by rapper Tupac Shakur about her parents’ interracial marriage. She later became friends with Tupac, who was engaged to her sister Kidada before he was killed.

Rashida Jones left Hollywood to attend Harvard University. She was first interested in becoming a lawyer, but changed her mind due to the O.J. Simpson murder trial. She then turn to the performing arts, working as a musical director, as well as an acting in several plays.

She directed in 2003 the music video for the song Brave by Sara Bareilles and became her debut work as a director.
