Mary Abigail ‘Abby’ Wambach, popularly known as Abby Wambach is an American soccer player. Abby has also worked as a coach later on in her life. She was born on 2nd June 1980 in Rochester, New York. She has earned her wealth from her performances on the soccer field. Mary started playing at an early age of 4. She began to play in the girl’s “Youth Soccer League” but after scoring 9 goals in a game, she was transferred to the boy’s team. While in high school, she scored 142 goals. She received an Athletic Scholarship to attend the Florida Gators Women’s Soccer Team. Mary is also the leading scorer of Washington with 10 goals.

She has been awarded the Silver Ball and the Bronze Boot at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Wambach has also been awarded the “ESPN ESPY” award for Best Play in 2011. In 2012, she was the “FIFA World Player of the Year”.
