Morrison saw the net assets of his Exile Publishing company nearly double to £2.9m in 2009. Morrison undertook 23 concerts in North America in 2009, generating gross box office receipts of $12m.
Born in Northern Ireland, he now lives in Dublin, and, befitting his workaholic tendencies, is a prolific artist who records a new album virtually every year. Companies linked to Morrison – Exile Productions and Exile Publishing – paid him more than £11.2m in salaries in the period 1995-2001. With his back catalogue, touring, and income from his classic hit Gloria being used to launch a perfume, Morrison is worth £50m.
He is to re-release his "The Complete Bang Sessions" Double LP in 2014.
