American actor and hip hop artist Mos Def has an estimated net worth of $1.5 million.

Also known as Yasiin Bey, Dante Terrell Smith was born on December 11, 1973 in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.. After becoming a part of the hip hop group Urban Thermo Dynamics, Mos Def appeared on the albums De La Soul, and Da Bush Babees. He was also a part of the duo Black Star, which he co-formed with Talib Kweli. In 1998, they released their first album titled Black Star.

Eventually, Mos Def pursued his solo career which resulted to the release of his albums titled Black on Both Sides (1999), The New Danger (2004), True Magic (2006), and The Ecstatic (2009).
