The founder of McAffe Inc., John McAffe is an expert computer programmer who has gained a great deal of popularity with his McAffe computer anti-virus.

From 1968 to 1970, John McAffe was hired as a programmer for the Institute of Space Studies of NASA. He then worked as a software designer at Univac and Operating System Architect at Xerox.

John McAffe founded Tribal Voice, PowWow and McAffe Associates. He then worked as one of the board of directors of Zone Labs until it was acquired by Check Point Software in 2003.

Due to global recession and financial economic crisis that affected his investments,  McAfee’s fortune significantly dropped from $100 million to $4 million.
