Jim Carrey was born on January 17, 1962 in Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian American actor, comedian and producer with a net worth of $150 Million.
Jim has received many awards and nominations over a long career. He has received four Golden Globe Award nominations and won two of them. He is known for his highly energetic slapstick performances. He has been described as one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood. He first gained recognition in 1990 after landing a recurring role in the sketch comedy “In Living Color”. Jim’s first leading role was in “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”. His performance was also appreciated in Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.
In 1997, he gave a critically acclaimed performance in “Liar Liar”, which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor. He then starred in hits such as “The Truman Show” in 1998, and “Man on the Moon” in 1999. Both these movies earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. In 2000, he worked in the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and in 2003 he starred in the major blockbuster film “Bruce Almighty”. In 2004, he worked in “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”. For this movie he received a Golden Globe nomination and a BAFTA Award nomination. He then starred in A Series of Unfortunate Events, Yes Man, Fun with Dick and Jane, A Christmas Carol, and Mr. Popper’s Penguins.
Carrey has been married twice. He married Melissa Womer on March 28, 1987. The couple divorced in 1995. A year later he marred Lauren Holly. The marriage lasted for less than a year. Carrey has dated many others since then. He met Jenny McCarthy in 2005, and made their relationship public in June 2006. In April 2010, the two ended their five year relationship.
