Also known as "Bill Jr." or "Little Bill", Bill France was an American motorsports executive. The France family is estimated to be worth $5.7 billion in 2015 according to Forbes. He was known to be the son of NASCAR founder, Bill France Sr., his father. William Clifton France was born on April 4, 1933 in Washington D.C.. He was an alumnus of University of Florida. France was previously married to Betty Jane. He has two children named Lesa and Brian. At age 74, Bill France Jr. died on June 4, 2007 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Initially, he served as the Vice President of NASCAR for six years until his father's retirement in January 1972. He succeeded his father as the head of NASCAR in the same year. He served the position until 2000. Today, Brian France, Bill Jr's son serves as NASCAR CEO, a position he has been serving since 2003.

As an executive and businessman Bill France has been inducted into the Oceanside Rotary Club of Daytona Beach Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame (2001), Motorcycle Hall of Fame (2004), International Motorsports Hall of Fame (2004), Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (2004), Automotive Hall of Fame (2006) and NASCAR Hall of Fame (2010).
