Pan Sutong has an estimated net worth of $5.6 billion as of March 2016, according to Forbes. A huge chunk of his fortune is acquired from his stakes in Goldin Financial Holdings which holds interests in various industries including factoring, wine, and real estates.

Pan Sutong was born in 1963 in Shaoguan, Guangdong, China. At age 13, he moved to the United States, but eight years later, he relocated to Hong Kong. Not long after, he started trading with Panasonic and other electronic brands. It was in 1993 when he founded the home appliance manufacturing company, Matsunichi Colour Display Monitor Company Limited.

Less than 10 years later, he purchased the Emperor Technology Venture Limited, which was later renamed to Matsunichi Communication Holdings Limited, and Goldin Properties Holdings Limited in 2008. On the same year, he acquired the Fortuna International Holdings Limited which he again renamed to Goldin Financial Holdings Limited.

Today, he serves as the controlling shareholder as well as the chairman of the board of the Goldin Financial Holdings Limited. He also serves as the CEO, non-executive director, and controlling shareholder of the Goldin Properties Holdings Limited.
