French businessman Pierre Bellon has an estimated net worth of $4.89 billion as of March 2017, according to Bloomberg. The founder and president of Sodexo is the ninth richest person in France and is ranked 316th in the World Billionaires List.

Born on January 24, 1930 in Marseille, France, Mr. Bellon has earned his estimated net worth of $4.4 billion through the multinational food service and facilities management company. He turned a small Marseille catering outfit into Sodexo, which became one of the largest catering companies in the world today. It has 413,000 employees in 80 countries and supplies food to the U.S. Marine Corps as well as in prisons, public hospitals in New York City and university campuses in the U.S. It also organizes catering for major events such as the Ryder Cup, the Dakar Road Rally, and the World Scout Jamboree. He has made a joint venture along with Magic Johnson to provide dinning and catering services to schools and cafeterias.

In 2005, he stepped down as the Chief Executive Officer of Sodexo but he still continues to be the chairman of the company. He wrote his autobiography, I’ve Had a Lot of Fun.
