Murat Ulker is a graduate of Bogaziçi University where he completed his degree in Business Administration. It was in 1982 when Ulker started his professional career. Upon obtaining professional training courses overseas, he started working as an intern at Continental Baking.

Since 2000, Murat Ulker has been serving as the Chairman of Executive Board of Ulker Group. He also serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Yildiz Holding AS which is considered as the largest food manufacturer in Turkey. The company is said to manufacturer various food products which include chocolate, milk, baby food and biscuits. In addition to food, Yildiz Holding AS also has interests in real estate, packaging, finance, personal grooming and wholesale commerce.
