American businessman Min H. Kao has an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes. He is known to be one of the founders of Garmin.

Prior to the founding of Garmin, Min Kao worked for Teledyne Systems as a systems analyst. Together with Gary Burrell, he co-founded Garmin in 1989 which specializes on producing navigational tools for sailors and pilots. The company is also geared towards manufacturing innovative GPS technology to various industries including marina, tracking, aviation, outdoor recreation, fitness as well as mobile apps. In the recent years, Garmin has been in a close competition with cellphone manufacturers that offer units containing GPS technology.

Min Kao was born in 1949 in Jhushan, Taiwan. After attending National Taiwan University, he studied at the University of Tennessee where completed his master's and Ph degrees in electrical engineering. Currently married, Min Kao has two children.
