American futures and foreign exchange trading advisor, John William Henry II, has a net worth of $2.2 billion as of June 2016, according to Forbes' list of billionaires. The global futures trader has transitioned to become one of the most successful owners in professional sports. He built his fortune with the hedge fund J.W. Henry & Company, bought the Red Sox in 2002 and broke the "Curse of the Bambino" by bringing two World Series championships to Boston. His Fenway Sports Group now owns the Liverpool F.C. soccer team which he bought for almost $500 million in October 2010. Fenway Sports Group also owns 80% of the New England Sports Network (NESN), and 50% of Roush Fenway Racing. In 2009, he married his second wife on his private yacht, and held the reception at historic Fenway Park in Boston.
