Senapathy Gopalakrishnan is the Executive Vice Chairman of Infosys and he has an estimated net worth of $1.79 billion according to Forbes as of May 2016. According to the data gathered by the magazine, he is the 51st richest person in India and 1088th in the list of World Billionaires.

Popularly known as Kris Gopalakrishnan, he has earned his estimated net worth of $1.79 billion when he co-founded Infosys with six other entrepreneurs in 1981. It is a global consulting and IT services company based in India.

During his first years at Infosys, Kris held various responsibilities including management of design, development, implementation and support of information systems for clients in the U.S. consumer products industry. He has helped grow the company into the second largest outsourcer in India. However, it has declined in the past year due to concerns over the slowing growth especially in the U.S. where it has its biggest market.

Mr. Gopalakrishnan was appointed in July to head the government panel on cloud computing. He donates $4 million annually to various causes such as funding scholarships for college students who are in need. He also has backed Startup Village, a village incubator in Kerala that aims to create 1,000 new ventures. His family owns a coffee estate and a farm in Karnataka state.
