Julio Rafael de Aragao Bozano has built his estimated net worth of $1.68 billion in the finance and banking industries. He is the co-founder of Banco Bozano & Simonsen which he sold to Banco Santander Central Hispano of Spain in 2000. He currently owns an 11% stake in Brazilian jetmaker Embraer, one of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers, which has an estimated value of $825 million. He also owns stakes in Azul Linhas Aereas, a domestic low-cost airline launched by LetBlue founder David Neeleman. He stayed out of the limelight until the beginning of 2013 when Group Bozano announced its purchase of 30% of Mercatto Investimentos, one of the 15 largest independent asset management firms in Brazil.

Mr. Bazano is a thoroughbred horse owner who has more than 300 mares at farms around the world. He is also an avid art collector who owns more than 100 paintings by artists such as Pablo Picasso and Beatriz Milhares, a contemporary Brazilian painter.
