Originating from Ankeny, Iowa, Dennis Albaugh refused to join the family business. Instead, he focused on agricultural business in Des Moines Area Community College. After his graduation, he traveled for seven years focusing on the sales of seeds and fertilizers. In 1979, he founded and established Albaugh Inc. His business even prospered in the 80's when he started selling glyphosate which is considered as the primary ingredient in manufacturing the herbicide Roundup. When the chemical's patent ended, Dennis Albaugh was able to purchase factories in Brazil and Argentina.
