Chinese steel magnate Zhang Zhixiang has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion as of March 2013 according to Forbes. This Chinese entrepreneur is often regarded as China's Magnate of Steel.

Zhang Zhixiang was born in 1967 in Shangyu, Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China. He is a graduate of Zhejiang University (ZJU) and Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT). It was in 1994 when he founded Zhongxiang Industry Corp. Founded in Zhaoxing province, the company's operations have expanded to Tianjin, Tangshan, Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghai provinces through time.

In 1993, he became involved in the steel industry. He started off by purchasing Zunhua Steel. He developed the company and later renamed it to Jianlong Steel. Today, the company is considered as China's largest private steel producer. Currently, he serves as the President of Tangshan Jianlong Industrial Co., LTD.. He also serves as the Executive Director of the China Steel Industry Association.
