Ayman Asfari was born on July 8, 1958 in Syria. He is an alumnus of Villanova University and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he completed his Civil and Urban Engineering degree. Ayman Asfari is currently married with four children named Hani, Adeeb, Kareem and Rayan.

He has served as the managing director of civil and mechanical construction business based in Oman. It was in 1991 when he first joined Petrofac. Ten years later, he bought the company and by 2005, he listed the company in the London Stock Exchange. As of fiscal year 2012, the company has signed over $5 million worth of contract with involved deals with Apache Corp, Pemex and Saudi Aramco. In 2011, he became a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
