Broderick won his first Tony Award in 1983 for the Brighton Beach Memoirs play where he was featured, and the second one for the musical "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying", where he was the leading actor. He was also nominated for the Award as Best Actor in The Producers, which he lost to his co-star, Nathan Lane.
