Aside from serving as the Vice President of Production for Columbia Pictures which is a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, DeVon Franklin also sits on the board of Film Independent and American Black Film Festival. Presently, he oversees the remake of the blockbuster film, The Karate Kid, starred by Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, which made a total gross income of $350 million worldwide.

He has also worked on Hancock and The Pursuit of Happiness, which starred Will Smith, and Jumping the Broom, a family comedy film starred by Paula Patton and Angela Bassett. Aside from his pursuits and endeavors in the entertainment industry, DeVon Franklin also works as a motivational speaker, author and preacher.
