Martha Lane Fox is a British businesswoman, philanthropist and public servant with an estimated net worth of $500 million. Born on February 10, 1973 in Oxford, United Kingdom, Baroness Lane-Fox of Soho was educated at Oxford High School, an all-girls independent school in Oxford, and at Westminster School, an all-boys public school in London with a mixed-sex sixth form. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Magdalen College in Oxford.

Fox co-founded Lastminute.com alongside fellow employee Brent Hoberman. It was an online travel and gift business that generated great publicity, floating at the peak of the dot-com bubble. Lane Fox stepped down as the managing director of the company in November 2003, just as the profits started to fall. It was sold in early 2005 to Sabre Holdings for £577 million.

Martha Lane Fox also co-founded Lucky Voice, the karaoke bar chain, along with Nick Thistleton. She was also appointed the British Government's UK Digital Champion and sits on Cabinet Office's Efficiency and Reform Board.
