Even though Sam Asghari has yet to officially challenge their prenup, Britney Spears’ ongoing divorce is already costing her a lot. The singer is reportedly footing the bill for her estranged husband’s temporary apartment, which he moved into after filing for divorce on August 16th.
Sam didn’t choose a shabby apartment, as the luxury condo reportedly costs $10,000 a month, and Britney is apparently covering it.
According to TMZ, insiders linked to the separated duo have revealed that Britney is shelling out five figures every month for the luxurious apartment that Sam now calls home. The apartment is situated in one of the most upscale residential complexes in Los Angeles.
It's reported that the regular rate for a standard unit in the high-rise is $10,000. However, Sam managed to negotiate a deal for a more favorable apartment at the base cost.
Considering the contentious nature of Sam and Britney's breakup, it may seem surprising that she's covering the expenses for his new living space. Yet, sources indicate that Britney's team deemed this gesture as a smart move, given that Sam's legal representative has hinted at a potential challenge to the prenuptial agreement, which could lead to an expensive divorce settlement.
TMZ notes that, per sources, the final amount could reach several hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Insiders reveal that communication between Britney and Sam remains minimal. However, have reportedly managed to find common ground when it comes to their pets. In the arrangement, Sam will keep Porsha, their Doberman, while Britney will keep their other four dogs.
While he stated "irreconcilable differences" as the reason in his court filing, it's been rumored that Sam initiated the divorce proceedings based on his suspicion that Britney was romantically involved with a member of her staff. Nonetheless, there's ongoing speculation that Sam is contemplating contesting the conditions outlined in their prenuptial agreement.
The court documents submitted by Sam's legal team mentioned that he is still in the process of comprehensively assessing the distinct properties, assets, and responsibilities of both parties.
“[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party,” court documents stated. "There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.”
This statement has led certain individuals to speculate that he is probing into his entitlements and questioning their extent.
Sam has denied via his representative that he’s not challenging the prenup, but his divorce from Britney remains ongoing.
