Sam Asghari is most known for his relationship with the pop princess Britney Spears, however, Asghari has become his own celebrity in recent years and has made his own riches. Although the two have been together since 2016 and lived in a $11 million mansion, Asghari has separated himself from Spears’ career and worked on his own to make a name for himself. While being known as Spears’ husband was sure to have gotten him places in Hollywood, he worked hard to pave a career he created — not his wife.
In August 2023, Asghari and Spears shared that they were divorcing after a year of marriage due to irreconcilable differences. With a heavy prenup in place, Asghari only has himself to lean on and make it big in Hollywood without his famous partner. While running a personal training business and landing some popular movie and TV roles, Asghari is well on his way to making it big in Hollywood.
Sam's Modeling Journey
As an immigrant from Iran, Asghari and his family moved to the United States when he was just 13 years old. By 2012, Asghari became fluent in English and became an American Citizen.
By the time Asghari was 21 years old, Clutch Points shared that he started modeling, much in part because of his sister. He told Men’s Health that his older sister got him an audition for Michael Costello, which was a huge deal. He quickly started getting more modeling gigs and has been in spreads like Iron Man, Men’s Health, Vulcan, and more. Succeeding in modeling then led quickly to acting, which was something he was always interested in because he was a part of his high school theatre as a teen.
Venturing Into Acting
Asghari slowly merged into acting professionally when he became an adult, and now that he’s single, he’s focused on making his acting career bigger than ever He first got started in acting by starring in music videos. Before being personally selected for Britney Spears’s “Slumber Party” music video, Asghari was also in Fifth Harmony’s “Work from Home” music video. However, Asghari wanted to get away from music videos and focus on TV shows and movies. It was around this time that he met Spears.
Taking a small break from acting after meeting Spears, he finally got his first acting role outside of music videos in 2019 in Alexandra Daddario’s Can You Keep a Secret. He then landed roles in shows like Hacks, Black Monday, and more recently, he has a spot in the hit drama Special Ops: Lioness.
In the future, Asghari is hoping to make it big in Hollywood by starring in a Marvel movie. He told Variety that Marvel should “give him a call.” It's his goal to become a "well-rounded actor." He said, "My ultimate goal is to really become a well-rounded actor. I’m doing a lot of MMA training, I’m doing a lot of gun and stunt training to be a well-rounded actor such as Tom Cruise, such as Jason Statham."
Next up on Asghari’s list is appearing in prominent producer Paul Fieg’s action-comedy Grand Death Lotto. The movie stars John Cena, Awkwafina, and Simu Lou.
Marrying A Pop Princess
Sam Asghari may have had a career on the rise in music videos before meeting Britney Spears, but it was their relationship that put him on the map. In 2021, Asghari told Variety “I just want to thank her so much for putting me on the map as far as, you know, everything else that’s going on in my career.”
In the interview, he added that he wanted to be “real” and admitted that he wouldn't have his level of stardom had Spears not helped him along the way. Dating, and later marrying, someone so prominent in the spotlight has only made Asghari more famous.
Now that Asghari and Spears are divorcing, it'll be interesting what kind of roles Asghari will be offered now that he has more time on his hands.
A Successful Personal Training Business
Before Asghari made it big in the acting and modeling world and became engaged to Spears, he became a fitness trainer and trained at Los Angeles' popular Royal Personal Training. In an interview with The New York Times, Asghari explained that personal training was his "version" of being a waiter in LA. It was a way for him to make money, pay the bills, and stay in shape while looking for acting and modeling work.
With an Instagram following of over 26,000, Asghari created his own fitness business that he pushes on social media. Called Asghari Fitness, the actor sells personalized training plans, meal plans, and even shopping lists.
If modeling and acting don't work out for Asghari, he has a bright future in the personal training realm considering his amazing shape. Without Spears in the picture, more options could come Asghari's way in terms of acting gigs and personal training options.
