American actor Lloyd Bridges had an estimated net worth of $15 million. Born Lloyd Vernet Bridges on January 15, 1913 in San Leandro, California, he graduated from Petaluma High School in 1931 and went to UCLA with a degree in political science.

Bridges had been a prolific actor who starred in a number of television series and appeared in more than 150 feature films. He is best remembered for playing the role of Mike Nelson, a square-jawed frogman star in the underwater adventure series, Sea Hunt.

Lloyd Bridges made his acting debut in the Broadway production of Othello in 1939. He also became part of Off-Broadway productions before he signed with Columbia Pictures. He appeared in several projects for the production company which included Here Comes Mr. Jordan and Talk of the Town. He also appeared in the cult sci-fi film Rocketshop Z-M.

Due to his radicalism and suspected anti-American tendencies, Lloyd was kind of prohibited from making Hollywood films. He resorted to making television projects and was successful with his performance in Sea Hunt which made him both a star and a millionaire. He subsequently appeared in The Lloyd Bridges Show but was never as successful as Sea Hunt.

Bridges became part of Airplane! which brought back his audience again with his zany screwball style of comedy. He then found his success in comic roles in the sequel Airplane II, Joe vs. the Volcano and the two Hot Shots films.

Apart from acting, Lloyd Bridges was an environmentalist who made campaigns on green issues. He was also active in the American Oceans Campaing and Los Angeles’ “Heal the Bay” campaign. He died on March 10, 1998 due to natural causes.
