Best recognized with his character as Stringfellow Hawke, a helicopter pilot in the series Airwolf, Jan-Michael Vincent's acting career lasted for more than 3 decades.

In 1967, he debuted in the film industry when he took a role in the film The Bandits (Los Banditos) which was starred by Robert Conrad. His major break came in when he took the starring role in the soap opera The Survivors, which he co-starred with George Hamilton and Lara Turner.

Later on, he starred in some episodes of shows like Danger Island, Dragnet and Bonanza. He also appeared in films like Big Wednesday, The World's Greatest Athlete, Bite the Bullet, White Line Fever, Baby Blue Marine, Damnation Alley, Defiance, Last Plane Out, and Raw Nerve.

Before his retirement in 2002, he took a role in the independent film Whiteboy which was titled Menace in its US video version.
