Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, also known as the Olsen twins, are former child actors and current fashion designers. Their current net worth is estimated to be $500 million. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were ranked #11 on the list of richest women in entertainment by Forbes in 2007. The sisters individually have a net worth of $250 million each.

The twins made their acting debut as Michelle Tanner on the television series Full House when they were infants. They started filming when they were nine months old. The sisters took turns playing the role to comply with child labor laws that impose strict limits on how long a child actor can function. They continued to play the role while the show ran, and it ended in 1995. Mary-Kate and Ashley started acting together in TV, film, and video projects when they were six years old, and this continued into their teenage years.

The Olsens started appearing (as separate characters) in films for video and television after starring on Full House. To Grandmother's House We Go, which was the first of these films, was released in 1992 and featured cameos from many other Full House cast members. They founded Dualstar in 1993, which would go on to produce the twins' subsequent films and videos, including Double, Double, Toil and Trouble in 1993 and How the West Was Fun in 1994. The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley, a series of musical mystery episodes, debuted in 1994 and ran until 1997.

The twin sisters made their feature film debut in It Takes Two, co-starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirstie Alley, in 1995, following the conclusion of Full House. They also launched a second video series, You're Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley's..., in the same year, which continued to release new episodes until 2000.

The Olsens appeared in an episode of All My Children the following year. In 1997, they returned to Sister Sister as guest stars in an episode. In 1998, the twins made a comeback to series television with Two of a Kind, an ABC sitcom co-starring Christopher Sieber as their characters' widowed father. The show only lasted one season, but it was aired again and again on cable for many years. Billboard Dad, the first of a new series of direct-to-video movies starring the Olsens, was also released in 1998. The Challenge, the final film in the series, was released in 2003. Mary-Kate received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for her performance on So Little Time.

Mary-Kate and Ashley had a cameo voice role as readers of Marge's book-on-tape, The Harpooned Heart, in an episode of The Simpsons in early 2004. New York Minute, a second feature film starring the twins, was released in 2004. It would be their final collaboration project, as well as Ashley's final acting role. Mary-Kate has continued to perform in movies and television shows.

The twins became co-presidents of Dualstar on their 18th birthday. Dualstar Entertainment is said to have made over one billion dollars in merchandise sales in stores and online. In Wal-Mart stores throughout North America, the Olsens had a clothing line for girls aged 4–14, as well as a cosmetics line named  "Mary-Kate and Ashley: Real fashion for real girls". They made headlines in 2004 when they signed a pledge to provide full maternity leave to all workers who sew their clothing in Bangladesh. The twins' commitment to worker rights was celebrated by the National Labor Committee, which coordinated the pledge. Due to all of this, since 2002, the Olsen twins have been on the Forbes Celebrity 100 List.

The Row, the couture line of the Olsen twins, is available at Barneys and other high-end stores. The Olsen Twins launched Elizabeth and James, a contemporary sportswear brand, under The Row, named after their younger sister and older brother. Olsenboye, a women's apparel line for J.C. Penney, was also launched. StyleMint, a t-shirt line created by the twins, was also introduced. In 2008, the sisters released Influence, a book of interviews with influential fashion figures. The twins debuted a new fashion line in Oslo, Norway, in August of 2013.

According to Business of Fashion, their net worth has risen in recent years as The Row continues to produce between $100 million and $200 million in annual revenue. Meanwhile, their other brand, Elizabeth and James, contributes to the salary, generating an estimated $89 million in annual sales. The line Elizabeth and James is named after their siblings, with Elizabeth Olsen being a well-known actress starring in Avengers: Infinity War. Mary-Kate Olsen made headlines recently after filing for an emergency divorce from her husband, Oliver Sarkozy (former French President Nicolas Sarkozy's brother). According to rumors, the actor had a pre-nuptial arrangement with Olivier. According to these reports, her money, business interests, and fortune are all well-protected. The actor applied for divorce in April, but due to the COVID-19, the court was unable to proceed.
