Born on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles California as Norma Jeane Mortenson, Marilyn Monroe started her showbiz career as a model at such a very young age. In 1946, her acting career with the Twentieth Century Fox commenced. From then on, she began appearing in projects like All About Eve, The Asphalt Jungle, Don't Bother To Knock, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Seven Year Itch, The Misfits, and How To Marry A Millionaire. Her performance in the Some Like It Hot earned her a Golden Globe Award.

In 2009, she was named by TV Guide Network as #1 on its list of Film's Sexiest Women of All Time. Furthermore, she was named by the American Film Institute as its sixth greatest film of all time.

Her success in the industry did not reflect well with her family life. She has been remarried thrice, and all her marriage did not result to having her own child. Her first marriage was with James Dougherty. After divorce, she married  Joe DiMaggio. Divorce was filed 9 months after their marriage on the grounds of mental cruelty. Her last marriage was with Arthur Miller.

In August 25, 1962, Monroe was found dead. Authorities later confirmed that acute barbiturate poisoning resulting from a probable suicide as the cause of her death.
